Man, last night was really crazy. As I put Gavin to bed I could hear it start raining. Joshua was down stairs working on seminary so I thought I would just mess around on the computer. I could hear it starting to rain really hard, thundering and lightening like crazy but I'm a big girl and don't get scared from thunderstorms anymore, so I kept on about my business. Then Joshua comes upstairs and says that our neighbors just called and said we should probably turn on the tv b/c it was getting pretty bad out there. So about the time Joshua heads back downstairs to do that the tornado sirens go off. Still, that could mean that the danger is like 50 miles from us in another part of the county. So I grab some pillows to take to our downstairs bathroom just in case and head downstairs. As I walk into the living room I notice that the news has a rotating thing like right above our house. So we start freaking out, I run upstairs and rip Gavin out of bed, Josh grabs sugar and we run across the cul-de-sac to our neighbors b/c they have a basement. Nothing really happened exactly at our house but not that far away a lot of trees came up and they lost power. A friend said that their house was shaking so the biggest part of the storm probably just barely missed us.
Of course all that made for interesting sleeping issues both last night and this morning but Gavin is a sleep now and Im sure he will sleep for awhile this afternoon! YEAH!
Gavin LOVES to play outside. There really isn't anything enticing enough to get him to come back in peacefully. The kid would starve to death if I let him decide when it was time to come in. But of course after crazy rain storms like last night outside is not the best place to be playing. But, thankfully his Nanny and Boo bought him some rain boots one time so we still went outside for a little while this morning. Gavin loved every minute of it!
