One of the many things we did over the holiday break was graduate from seminary!!! I mean obviously it was really Joshua graduating but man it has felt like we've all been in school now for a really long time! And it's all finally over! He never has to stay late for another class or spend hours reading a book or writing a paper! We all went to New Orleans to watch him walk and did a few other things while we were there as well. I don't remember the name of this restaurant but we ate here the night before the big day.
Gavin bring his normal goofy self!
The whole time we were walking around we walked passed buildings like this that really reminded me of the movie Double Jeopardy. If you've never seen it, it is really good....but I digress.
Here he is walking up the stage.
And shaking the president's hand and getting his diploma.
I think this face pretty much says it all! Ha! Joshua and his faces!
The boys and their zoolander faces.
Then after graduation we all went to the aquarium. It's nothing like atlanta's aquarium but it was a fun family thing.
Gavin did really good during the graduation part and loved going on a trip and staying in a hotel. I guess it's the first time that he can really remember that and he was thrilled to be sleeping there. He did crack me up twice during the ceremony to the point that I thought I wasn't going to be able to hold it in. First, everybody was clapping and standing up as all the graduates walked in and as the applause is dying down Gavin yells "No You rock and you know that!" In case you don't know this, it's a line from the movie Cars. Which he loves and apparently has memorized! I mean he yelled it and I just fell in the floor laughing! Then a little later in the president's speech he was asking what can we do? what does our response need to be? you know giving an encouraging speech to get out there and get to kingdom business. Gavin is not paying attention, playing angry birds on my phone but after about the 3rd or 4th question in a row, Gavin, once again, yells, "I don't know!" So, of course he was actually listening the whole time! Too funny!
