Boomer Sooner Baby!

Well, it is now monday and I just had the best weekend in a VERY long time! First, Gavin and I made it all the way to texas by ourselves on a plane! Yeah! I was physically nervous/sick about the whole me by myself thing although I have done it many times before but you just never know how this time is going to turn out! Plus Gavin has gotten increasingly more "busy" since we flew last and I knew he would not just sit in my lap for 2 hours! HA! But we made it great!

Ok, then we got home and took a short rest then headed out to my brother's hockey game. He is a senior this year and I'm pretty sure this will be the last game I'll get to watch him play so I was excited to go. He passed the puck to his teammate who scored the first goal so that was really cool! But then the other team scored right away and then twice more making it 3 to 1. Our team eventually scored again but there was only 3 minutes left in the entire game and hockey goals do not come easy. But then with a minute left JD skates up to the goal and scores! I AM SCREAMING MY HEAD OFF!!!!! Now there is like 45 secs left so they face off and JD is center so they are skating around and JD tries to go for the puck to stop this kid and the stupid blind ref calls a penalty saying the JD was tripping. Well, if you know my brother you know that he would NEVER break the rules on purpose. So now the other team has the advantage of 5 on four and 45 secs left to score.......finally the time runs out and they don't so they get a tie but not a loss! We are jumping and screaming like we just won the stanley cup.

Ok, then saturday, my alma matter and my brother's high school have made it to the second round of play-offs in football since 1986 and we are going to go. My brother runs the field with the huge flags whenever they score or at the beginning of a half and once again I have never gotten to see him do this and will probably never again so excited to go. Well, they score first and really fast and then we don't. However we are able to step up the defense and stop them. Well the next two quarters continue and no one scores. In the very last seconds of the first half we kick a field goal and get on the board! Yeah! Ok, half time. Then we come back out and get the ball first and score! So now we are up 10-3. Then they catch a ball and make a 73 yard touch down. :-( We can't believe it! Then we get the ball back and score! OH my gosh!!!!! we are ahead again! Now there are about 5 min. left in the fourth quarter. They are marching down the field and then we intercept!!!! AAAHHHHH!!!!! I am literally peeing my pants! And I don't even have to go to the bathroom! (but a weak bladder comes with babies!) Anyways......we are able to run a couple of plays but can then take a few knees and WIN THE GAME! I can't believe it! Taylor has NEVER made it to the third round of playoffs before! And I got to go the game and now I get to go next week as well! This is so exciting because I am 8 years older than my brother so have really missed a lot of his things he has done growing up.

Then as most of you know I'm sure, I sat down saturday night totally expecting to fight a hard fight against Texas Tech and honestly, probably loose. I had seen some tt games and they are really good and our defense had not been doing so hot. However, we totally killed them! I can't even describe how my heart is pounding even now reliving these wonderful moments but it is a wonderful feeling! I am so glad I got to be here to experience it all with my brother and family!
