Well, we were successful once out of 5 times. But still, once was good. Then saturday night we tried again and once again, once out of 4 times but still, he was really starting to notice when he was peeing. Sunday, we tried a couple of times and were kind of successful once. He started going and I screamed and he stopped, so I grabbed him and threw him on the potty and waited. Then he went some more. I thought hmmmm, that seemed like he was a lot more in control that time. Then last night, when we got out of the pool he did the same thing, four times in a row! He would start to go then stop and go the rest on the potty! Then this morning I asked him if he needed to go and he said yes so we went and sa down and he went! He has been wearing the same pair of underwear all morning! I can't believe it! So I guess we are potty training! Ha Ha!

Getting Bigger
Well, inevitably, they all grow up. That's what I've heard just about everyday for the past 20 months and 9 days. It's amazing though when it's your little boy because it seems to happen over night. You bring home a new born and they stay that way for awhile and then one day you walk into their room and they are a baby, wide eyed and taking it all in, then one morning they become a crawler/toddler with a world to explore. They stay that way for awhile until one day their a preschooler, active, communicating, it's crazy. Well, I've had this little preschooler now for a little while, trying to let me know what he wants, trying to figure out cause and effect, trying to find some boundaries. Then just this weekend and really last night, he jumped into a whole new stage of life. His vocabulary has all of a sudden tripled, his memory blows my mind, he has a favorite book, a favorite movie, a favorite dinner, he loves reading, coloring, swimming. He wants to try and swim to you, he'll jump off the step, the side and the diving board. He wants me to also do anything that he is doing, like riding on a toy or having a snack. He comes up with elaborate plans to try and get what he wants. He understands actions, consequences, and discipline and then he has decided that he wants to go titi on the potty! We have had a potty at our house ever since he started wanting to sit on it like we were. Since he was barely one, I didn't force it. Every once in awhile I would ask if we wanted to and he would say no so I'd say ok. I got him to go on the potty once but it was pure accident. Then lately he has been wanting to sit on it more. Fine, of course I let him. Then friday, we went swimming and once we got out of the pool we were in the bathroom hanging everything up and josh walked away from the door for a second and walked back over there and he was sitting on the big potty, the right way! We were shocked so I decided to try and give him a lot to drink and ask him to sit on the potty every so often.
