Gavin is 5!

This weekend Gavin turned five years old!!! 

It was a crazy weekend because he had a soccer game and team pictures and it was the OU vs texas game which was AMAZING!!!! but I digress. So we made it home and got started putting the finishing touches on the party. Gavin wanted a ninja party and a cake with ninja's fighting on it so this is what we came up with.

The party started and the kids got here and they all went outside to have a good fight.

We had a relay race where the kid's ninja skills were put to the test and then headed back inside to have cake and ice cream.

I don't remember how and when it became "a thing" but Gavin has wanted a piñata for his birthday for a long time. So we found a dragon piñata that the kids could attack and attack they did. Everybody got two chances to hit the dragon with their best brick breaking maneuvers but (surprise surprise) they didn't work! So Gavin took a bat to the poor thing.

Then we came back in and opened presents. One of the things we got him was a new Peyton Manning jersey. He had wanted to invite Peyton to his party so I was hoping this would make his absence a little less noticeable :)

After the presents it was time to really work on those ninja skills which included trying to get through a room filled with red hot lasers that could slice your arm right off!

While the big kids were doing all this Titus was outside playing with the decapitated dragon. :)

It was a very fun party and a great weekend really celebrating our growing little boy! We are so thankful the Lord gave him to us 5 years ago!
